Newborn sessions are some of my favorites especially rainbow newborn portraits. I love capturing brand new babies in their pure state. This family has been close to my heart as I have known their desire to welcome a new baby into their life. Well, it turns out that Miss Ariah happens to be a rainbow baby! A rainbow baby is a special baby that arrives after a loss, a beautiful and bright rainbow follows a storm and gives hope of things getting better. Nick and Kilee may have needed to be a little more patient and prayerful to start their family. But everything is in God’s timing. Therefore, if you are experiencing this, I want you to know that you are not alone. I have experienced this and heard countless stories, giving many tearful hugs and supporting both clients and friends along the way of navigating loss.
I really got lucky with this family. They are so sweet, really laid back, fun to work with, and they have a beautiful daughter! What more can I ask for? I was beaming with happiness throughout this session, knowing they have been waiting for this moment for a while. Their sweet baby girl was a dream to photograph. She was a sweet itty-bitty six-pounder, and oh so snuggly! It was such an honor being able to capture their first family portraits as a family of three.
Every child born is a gift from God, and there’s something extraordinary about a rainbow baby! Just like a rainbow, God could not have given this little rainbow to a better family. Most importantly, I’m so grateful to Nick and Kilee for allowing me to be a part of their joy, and she is loved by two of the best parents I have met. I look forward to watching Ariah grow up!
